Stitch Fix Review (#2) April 2016

After such great success with my first Stitch Fix, I hopped online to schedule my next fix for the month of April, and it didn't disappoint!  I have to say, I have totally lucked out with my stylist, Kate.  She really pays attention to my requests, my body type, my Pinterest board, and she even now checks the blog to see my reviews and how all the pieces she selected fit me (hi Kate!  You're awesome!).  So this month I asked for a floral top, distressed shorts, a romper, and to try another maxi, and Kate definitely delivered on all fronts!

If you don't know what Stitch Fix is yet,it's an online personal shopping service that provides you with a personal stylist who selects five clothing items and/or accessories based on information you provide, and ships them directly to your doorstep.  Then you get to try them all on, keep what you love, and send back what you don't in a prepaid return shipping bag that's provided for you.  There's a $20 styling fee but that will be applied to anything you choose to purchase.  (And bonus, if you keep all 5 items you get a 25% discount!)  The process could not be simpler.  It's so neat to see what someone else will select for you based on the information you provide them with about your body type and style.  You can also set your price point, link a Pinterest board so your stylist can get a better sense of your style, and you can even request specific items.  Your stylist will send you a sweet note about what she picked out for you, and handy little styling cards for how to style each piece!  If you want to try Stitch Fix, be sure to use my referral link!  If you sign up I receive a $25 credit and therefore I will love you forever.  Thanks so much to those who signed up using my referral code already!

Okay, onto the good stuff.  Here's what I got!  (Affiliate links have been included in this post for your shopping convenience.)

Dorset Tie Neck Top from Papermoon

Notes: I requested a floral top and this one was really sweet.  I love that it had the mixed prints and the little fringe detail. It fit in all the right places and Matt really liked this one (always a bonus). I went back and forth over and over on this one and it boiled down to one little picky thing... I was concerned it would wrinkle after washing and I am not a fan of ironing.
Verdict: RETURN

Waters Printed Maxi from Papermoon

Notes: After the amazing maxi from my last fix that I sent back due to being unsure about the top, I can totally get why my stylist sent this one, and it sure was cute!  The print was really fun and it was crazy comfortable.  I think on someone else it would be amazing, but I felt like it made me look heavy in the waist/hip area.  I have such a straight figure it's tough to find a maxi that suits my body type, but I sure am glad my stylist keeps trying!  I will say, both maxi dresses I've received fit me perfect length wise, which is a miracle for my 5ft. frame!
Verdict: RETURN

Juli Lasercut Detail Blouse from Market & Spruce

Notes: As soon as I saw this I knew it would be a winner.  I have a serious weakness for polka dots, and navy and pink is one of my favorite color combinations.  Add the pretty laser cut detail at the bottom and this shirt was a huge score. I know it will be on repeat all spring/summer.
Verdict: KEEP

Roxy Frayed Split Hem Denim Short from Just Black

Notes: (Please excuse my winter white legs!) I don't have anything like these in my wardrobe so I was really hoping to love them.  I asked for distressed denim shorts and was surprised to see them in khaki. Usually I prefer khaki shorts to be much more polished and I save the distressing for blue or white jeans, but I kept an open mind and ended up really liking the style of these.  Unfortunately they were a tad too long for my short legs and the distressing was a little too perfect for my taste.
Verditct: RETURN

Kesey Knit Romper by Market & Spruce

Notes: I have never met a romper I didn't love, and this one was no exception!  If you're around me in the summer time, you know I could live in rompers.  They always seem to fit my body so well and they're super comfortable and easy to throw on.  I absolutely LOVED this romper.  The pattern was gorgeous, I love the color and the material was so soft.  It felt amazing on but unfortunately it was just too big up top (my fault as I forgot to mention to my stylist that I usually need to size down in rompers).  So sad to send this one back, but really hoping to try another one in my next fix!
Verdict: RETURN

Final Thoughts:  Ok, so I only kept one item this fix, but from all other standpoints it was a total win.  I feel like my stylist really gets me and really listens to my wants and needs.  I was able to perfectly understand why she selected each piece for me and funny enough, the only piece that I didn't request was the one I ended up keeping!  For my next fix I'm giving her free range to select whatever she wants, although I would love to see another romper and maybe that striped skirt she was talking about in her note!
